About RDC

Receipts Depositary Corporation is a fintech company building the infrastructure that connects the traditional US securities market with digital assets and commodities markets. Our founders are former Wall Street bankers with over a decade each of institutional banking experience and have significant experience bringing innovative financial products to market.

We are a fully funded startup targeting a September 2026 platform upgrade and multiple new product launches. Our platform is a cloud-native, Azure-hosted system spanning 16 microservices — Python FastAPI, LoopBack Node.js and Angular with a custom workflow integration in PostgreSQL.

We are at an inflection point: transitioning from an offshore-built platform to employing a key engineering hire to bring technical leadership in-house and set the standard for how we build.

About the Role

You will be RDC’s sole in-house engineer and the technical owner of the platform. You will direct a team of offshore engineers, personally build the most complex components, own the architecture, and deliver the September 2026 product launch. This role suits someone who is a self-starter and energized by ownership rather than narrowly defined scope — someone who is comfortable operating in a greenfield environment, with lean resources, and wants their fingerprints on something that matters in the long run with the opportunity to grow into a Head of Engineering role as we scale.

This is a 40/60 role: approximately 40% hands-on engineering on the critical path, and 60% directing the offshore team, reviewing code, making architecture decisions, and being the technical voice to leadership. Capital markets or securities services domain experience is as important as technical depth.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership

  • Direct offshore engineers across Node.js, Python, and Angular: setting sprint priorities, reviewing all PRs, and owning delivery quality and pace to the September 21st launch date
  • Own all architecture decisions: database schema, service design, API contracts, and the security model for a platform processing DTC-settled institutional securities transactions
  • Be the technical interface to external counterparties: transfer agent, custodians, and market data providers and lead integration kickoffs
  • Maintain the Azure infrastructure including Key Vault, API Management, and the staging-toproduction migration before go-live
  • Translate engineering status and technical decisions into strategic business oriented outcomes for the leadership team
  • Lead UAT: writing test scenarios, validating acceptance criteria, and signing off on go-live readiness

Hands-On Engineering

  • Extend the existing workflow engine plus design and build new workflows
  • Lead the External API integrations: new service layer, real-time callback endpoint, and instruction payload (the critical path for September)
  • Architect a multi-custodian routing framework supporting institutional custodians across digital and commodity asset classes
  • Build the email-based instruction ingestion service: domain authentication, template parsing, and automated transaction creation
  • Contribute to the automation of key platform tasks

What We’re Looking For

You must have

  • 5–7 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior engineer or technical lead capacity
  • Backend-leaning full-stack profile: strong in at least two of Python, Node.js, Java — with enough Angular to direct and review frontend work
  • Capital markets/securities services, fintech, or financial infrastructure experience: transfer agents, custodians, securities settlement, or equivalent financial API integrations
  • Demonstrated experience directing offshore or remote engineering teams: owning delivery quality and timeline, not just collaborating
  • Workflow orchestration experience: comfort designing and extending state-machine or workflow systems in production
  • Azure Cloud infrastructure experience: compute, secrets management, API gateways, managed databases

Nice to have

  • Experience integrating with transfer agent or custodian APIs: securities settlement, digital asset custodians, or institutional financial infrastructure
  • Familiarity with securities settlement instruction formats
  • Exposure to digital asset infrastructure: custodian APIs, on-chain transaction matching, or blockchain reconciliation
  • Experience at a startup: comfortable with equity compensation and building without a large team
  • LoopBack 4 or similar API framework experience

How to Apply

Send your CV and a short note: not a cover letter, just a paragraph telling us why you would be a good fit for the role. We need someone in seat by June 2026. The sooner this hire is made, the more runway the incoming Technical Lead has to get familiar with the platform before the September 2026 build tracks open.
